Rand Paul can’t distinguish between a toilet and a uterus…

Outraged over the government’s role in spoiling his bathroom experience and the joy of a good flush, during an Energy Committee hearing in March Kentucky Senator Rand Paul took deadly accurate aim at the ‘hypocrisy’ of liberals: They claim to be ‘pro-choice’ on pregnancy options for women but they are out to take away the freedom of folks like him who want a full range of choices in toilet options.

This kind of brilliant deployment of libertarian logic will be the undoing of American progressivism if we can’t figure out how to refute it!

The challenge? HOW can one claim to be pro-choice while supporting industry standards for consumer goods? WOW! That is TOUGH!

In other words, if you want freedom over your uterus you have to give Rand Paul his choice of  bathroom fixtures. Bring out the LIBERTY TOILET! (I am picturing some pretty creative civil disobedience ‘movements’ here…)

This most recent spattering of public discourse with the ropy slobber of libertarian ‘thought’ comes by way of Teaparty determination to repeal the dreaded 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act which requires that all general-purpose light bulbs that produce 310–2600 lumens of light be 30% more energy-efficient than then-current incandescent bulbs by 2014. (The outrage!)

Sen. Paul (named after talentless romance novelist and part-time writer of  philosophical slogans for matchbook covers, Ayn Rand) used the Energy Committee hearings to attempt to entangle the Energy Department’s Deputy Assistant Secretary, Kathleen Hogan, in what he clearly thought was going to be a clever debate gambit by getting her to admit that she is pro-choice and then confronting her with a charge of ‘hypocrisy’ by inconsistently denying consumers ‘choice’ as to light bulbs.

Unfortunately, Hogan did not trip into Paul’s cleverly laid trap, but the Senator from Dementia was undeterred and lambasted Hogan and other liberals ‘like her’ for thuggishly limiting the choices of consumers of light bulbs as well as (for some personal reasons that he really should seek counseling about) toilets.

Here’s a sampling of comments from the thoughtful and bright-minded folks who used their You Tube responses to indicate their enthusiastic support of Rand’s inane pro(toilet)choice diatribe:

“I love how people in government (besides Ron and Rand) talk about preserving freedom of choice while at the same time crafting laws that take away freedom of choice.” [21 thumbs-up]

“Its great to see Ron [sic] Paul standing up for Americans and our freedom. Next these greenies will wana tell ppl when to eat, sh*t or make love. United States = The land of the free. For those of u who disagree with Ron, my suggestion is LEAVE THIS COUNTRY.” [This is from “buff24seven” whose YouTube channel you REALLY want to check out!]

“At least someone is FIGHTING these Communist! It all falls under the UN AGNEDA 21 – Sustainable Development PLAN – ONE WORLD ORDER. PEOPLE WAKE UP – it’s here!” [‘libertylouis’ declares his age as 57…]

“Rand is becoming a political superstar in my book. What a silly, stupid, and jerky looking woman from the DE we had to hear a lame response from. IF that is what they send before congress then I agree it is high time to end the dept of energy…”

“Sen. Paul takes eloquence to a higher level here…Rand and Ron are intimidating the hell out of liberals…WAKE UP, CITIZENS!”

Why must we continue to share a planet with people so befuddled as to think Rand and Ron’s brand of cognitive vomit counts as intelligent thought?
