As a contingent of the finest of NYPD spent the past week guarding Wall Street‘s vulgar bronze bull (hack artist’s non-ironic and probably unintended reference to the Aaron’s ‘Sin of the Calf’–see Exodus 32:4 for details), fellow thugs-in-blue manhandled and intimidated ordinary citizens exercising their first amendment rights (and their thoroughly American impulse to stand up against abusive, corrupt, and uncountable power) during the Wall Street Occupation.
Sort of raises questions about the meaning of “To protect and serve” don’t it?
Meanwhile, there really is a corporate media blackout on the Wall Street protest that started on September 17. It’s almost impossible to get a coherent account of events at the protests, from any ‘mainstream’ news source.
